Gulet Charter Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect from a luxury gulet charter?
A luxury gulet charter provides the elegance and freedom of a private yacht vacation aboard a beautifully crafted wooden vessel. With a full crew, bespoke service, and modern amenities, it is your own floating sanctuary to explore the Mediterranean’s hidden bays and iconic seas in total privacy and comfort.
Where can I charter a luxury gulet?
We operate across the Mediterranean’s most storied coastlines—Turkey, Greece, Croatia, and selected routes in Italy and Montenegro. Whether anchoring beneath Lycian cliffs in Turkey, drifting among Cycladic isles, or gliding along the Dalmatian archipelago, your journey will be nothing short of remarkable.
What are the costs associated with chartering a gulet?
Charter rates vary based on the yacht’s size, luxury features, season, and destination. As a guide: Standard Gulets: €6,000 – €12,000 per week Deluxe Gulets: €12,000 – €25,000 Luxury Gulets: €25,000 – €60,000 Ultra-Luxury Gulets: €60,000+ These rates typically include the yacht, crew, fuel for daily cruising, linens, and onboard amenities. Optional extras such as gourmet provisions, yacht toys, marina fees, and transfers are calculated separately through the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA).
What does a charter package include?
Your charter will encompass:
Exclusive use of the vessel
Professional crew: captain, chef, stewards, deckhands
Housekeeping, linen, and towel service
Air-conditioned ensuite cabins
Water toys (SUPs, kayaks, snorkel gear)
Safety equipment and local permits
Extra elements such as bar packages, private transfers, shore excursions, or specialty requests (jet skis, spa, wine tasting) can be tailored to your wishes.
What is APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance)?
The APA, usually 20–30%, covers variable costs like gourmet food and drinks, extra fuel, port and agency fees, and special requests. Your captain manages this budget with full transparency. Any unspent balance is refunded at the end of your charter.
What dining options are available on board?
Your private chef will prepare fresh, elegant meals tailored to your preferences. From Mediterranean cuisine and grilled seafood to mezze spreads and local delicacies, every dish is an opportunity to delight. You can choose between full-board (3 meals/day) or half-board options. Dietary requirements such as vegan, halal, gluten-free, and kosher are all accommodated when requested in advance.
Can I choose my route?
Absolutely. Every charter is bespoke. You may create your dream route—whether it’s Bodrum to Kekova, Ionian island hopping, or Dalmatian coast cruising. We also offer sample itineraries which you may modify to suit your pace, desires, and weather conditions.
You can design your own route or follow popular Blue Cruise options such as:
Bodrum – Gökova – Bodrum
Göcek – Fethiye – Kekova
Marmaris – Datça – Selimiye
Kos – Symi – Rhodes (Greece)
Split – Dubrovnik (Croatia)
Your captain will recommend the best bays, islands, and swimming stops depending on the weather.
Are luxury gulets suitable for families and groups?
Yes. Luxury gulets are ideal for families, couples, and groups, offering privacy, space, and attentive service. Many of our yachts host weddings, corporate retreats, and special occasions in settings few others can match.
Do gulets sail or motor?
Most gulets are motor-sailers—they typically cruise under engine power for smooth navigation, but sails can be hoisted when conditions are favorable, offering an authentic sailing experience.
What is the best time to book a gulet charter?
The Mediterranean gulet season runs from April to October. April and May offer mild weather and fewer crowds, providing the best value. June to September features warm seas and vibrant nightlife, making it the perfect time for a lively vacation. October brings quiet anchorages and a pleasant climate. We recommend booking 6–9 months in advance to ensure the best selection of yachts.
Do I need sailing experience or a license?
No. Every charter is fully crewed. You simply relax, explore, and enjoy—the experienced captain handles navigation, safety, and itinerary adjustments.
Can I bring pets?
In many cases, yes—with advance request and approval. We can help you find a yacht that welcomes your furry companion and make arrangements accordingly.
Will we sleep in ports or at sea?
You may choose. Most nights are spent in serene anchorages under the stars. Some clients prefer occasional nights in marinas to explore towns or enjoy evening life ashore. The plan is fluid and guided by your preferences.
How safe is a gulet charter?
Absolutely. All our yachts adhere to international safety regulations and are equipped with life jackets, emergency gear, and communication equipment. Our crews are trained and experienced in both hospitality and maritime procedures, ensuring your safety at all times.
