APA, VAT and additional costs

Most crewed charters run on an APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) — typically 25–35% of the charter fee, paid before boarding and used by the captain for provisioning, fuel, harbour fees and other running costs. The captain accounts for every expense and any unused balance is returned at the end of the charter. VAT depends on the flag state and cruising country and is confirmed in writing with your quote.
